Sarebbe difficile sintetizzare in poche battute il ruolo ricoperto da Giovanni Reale con la sua attività di insegnamento universitario e di ricerca nell’ambito degli studi sul pensiero antico, ma anche con il suo infaticabile impegno di editore, traduttore, commentatore di opere antiche e moderne, di instancabile promotore e protagonista del dibattito critico e filosofico internazionale. Ben noto per i suoi manuali di Storia della antica (in cinque volumi, pubblicati fra il 1975 e il 1980) e di Storia della greca e romana (in dieci volumi, completata nel 2004), nelle collane da lui dirette, presso l’editore Vita e Pensiero prima, quindi presso Bompiani, Reale ha incoraggiato e sostenuto la traduzione italiana di importanti studi critici dedicati al pensiero antico, come pure numerose edizioni e commenti dei grandi classici della occidentale. Negli ultimi anni della sua attività, Reale ha anche pubblicato alcuni saggi di ampio respiro, nei quali ha tentato di porre in luce i tratti peculiari dell’eredità della riflessione classica nella costruzione della mentalità e della cultura del mondo moderno e contemporaneo (mi riferisco in particolare ai volumi: Saggezza antica, del 1996, Platone. Alla ricerca della sapienza segreta, del 1997, e Socrate. Alla scoperta della sapienza umana, del 1999). Nelle brevi note che seguono mi limiterò a indicare alcuni aspetti dei contributi offerti da Reale allo studio della Metafisica di Aristotele e, più in generale, all’interpretazione del pensiero di Platone, segnalandone eventualmente le implicazioni problematiche.
Fin dal volume del 1961 sopra citato, Reale ha difeso la tesi che vede nella Metafisica aristotelica un’opera caratterizzata da una forte continuità tematica e concettuale, in base piumini moncler uomo alla considerazione che sarebbe possibile unificare la di cui Aristotele si occupa, denominata di volta in volta “sapienza”, ” prima” o ” cercata”. Ora, Reale ha tentato di mostrare che l’indagine sulle cause prime non può che condurre a individuare il principio di tutte le cose, che deve a sua volta coincidere con l’essere preso per sé e nel suo significato più elevato, dunque con la sostanza, che, nella sua forma più alta, cioè in quanto sostanza immateriale, consiste, secondo il libro XII della Metafisica, nel primo motore immobile, nell’atto puro moncler outlet serravalle del pensiero di sé che è possesso esclusivo e privilegiato della divinità. Una simile tesi troverebbe fra l’altro un appoggio significativo nel 1 cap. del libro VI dell’opera, in cui Aristotele qualifica la prima, tra le scienze teoretiche, come theologiké, cioè appunto “teologica”.
Mi limiterò a segnalare a questo proposito che il registro “teologico” è normalmente introdotto da Aristotele, nella Metafisica, per alludere a quei “proto pensatori”, come gli antichi poeti, che si sono espressi in forma soltanto mitologica e piuttosto confusa intorno alla realtà naturale e alla sua genesi; mentre i non numerosi riferimenti ai tratti “teologici” della prima, del resto mai concepita espressamente come “teologia”, bensì al più come “teologica”, cioè che attiene in qualche misura e in qualche senso alla dimensione del divino, possono forse essere spiegati ricorrendo all’ambito moncler outlet concettuale e culturale diffuso di una concezione del divino che Aristotele pare introdurre piuttosto come “paradigma” della perfezione e della supremazia dell’oggetto della prima che non per suggerire un’identificazione di quest’ultimo con un dio o perfino con Dio. Per quanto riguarda i suoi studi su Platone, Reale è stato fra i più vigorosi e attivi esponenti della cosiddetta scuola di Tubinga Milano, la cui principale ipotesi eseg consiste nell’ammissione che sia esistito un insegnamento orale di Platone diffuso all’interno dell’Accademia ed escluso dai dialoghi scritti, i cui contenuti, radicalmente differenti da quelli dei dialoghi, si lascerebbero ricostruire in base ad alcune testimonianze innanzitutto aristoteliche e farebbero emergere una dottrina dei “principi” fondamentali e primi di tutta la realtà, l’Uno e la Diade indefinita, dai quali deriverebbero, in successione, le realtà ideali (forme e numeri), la serie dei numeri e infine il mondo sensibile. Questa posizione sarebbe motivata, da un lato, dalla svalutazione della scrittura a favore dell’oralità dell’attività filosofica, che sarebbe attestata in alcuni piumini moncler outlet passi platonici, e, dall’altro, dall’esigenza di giungere a una ricostruzione della struttura sistematica del pensiero platonico che certo non traspare dai dialoghi scritti. Ne è buon esempio la questione del demiurgo, il mitico costruttore del mondo secondo il Timeo, che Reale esamina, sulla base delle dottrine orali, in un’ottica completamente diversa da quella assunta dalla maggioranza dei commentatori. Egli sostiene in particolare che, lungi dall’essere una metafora mitica tutto sommato isolata nella riflessione fisico teologica del Timeo, la figura del demiurgo occupa una posizione centrale nella platonica, niente affatto circoscrivibile ai dialoghi più tardi. A essa infatti dovrebbero essere ricondotte tanto “l’intelligenza ordinatrice” che nel Fedone è associata al concetto anassagoreo del nous, l’intelletto che dispone tutte le cose e nel quale risiede la ragione ultima della del reale, quanto l'”artefice dei sensi”, ordinatore del cielo e dei corpi celesti, cui si fa riferimento nella Repubblica (507c5 8 e 530a3 b4). Secondo Reale, la figura del demiurgo si lega intimamente alla problematica del Bene e alla teoria dei principi: il demiurgo, infatti, si distinguerebbe dal Bene in quanto tale, moncler saldi uomo assumendo piuttosto il ruolo di intelligenza formatrice non impersonale, un dio buono che esplica il Bene e lo realizza, esercitando la propria azione ordinatrice e formatrice su una materia che moncler donna gli si oppone, caratterizzata dalla molteplicità e dal male. Di qui si giunge alla conclusione che l’attività del demiurgo si determina come una sorta di “semi creazionismo” che, pur non ponendosi come una creazione ex nihilo, conferisce tuttavia esistenza a tutte le cose secondo strutture originarie, quelle dei principi. Una simile concezione è, a parere di Reale, la più alta forma di monoteismo che i greci poterono raggiungere, non lontana, nelle sue linee generali, dalla teologia cristiana.
Questa posizione, agli occhi di chi scrive, risulta davvero problematica nei suoi esiti. Se è infatti difficilmente outlet moncler negabile che Platone abbia tenuto, se non vere e proprie lezioni, almeno discussioni orali all’interno dell’Accademia su argomenti che potevano rientrare o meno nelle sue opere scritte; se è evidente che egli moncler saldi si è occupato di teorie matematiche, come risulta chiaro dalla lettura di dialoghi tardi, quali il Filebo o il Timeo, nei quali si assiste al tentativo di spiegare la realtà del mondo in base a principi aritmetici o geometrici; e se è plausibile che i suoi discepoli accademici, fra cui lo stesso Aristotele, si siano verosimilmente sforzati di ricondurre a sistema organico queste riflessioni, in parte orali, in parte scritte, per presentarle senza soluzione di continuità con il complesso della sua e specialmente con il nucleo di essa, con la teoria ontologica delle idee ebbene, concesso tanto, risulta invece fortemente speculativo, e tutto sommato poco probabile, sulla base dell’evidenza testuale, che queste dottrine fossero dallo stesso Platone strettamente connesse all’insieme del suo pensiero, rappresentandone intenzionalmente l'”inveramento”; che moncler bambino saldi fossero volutamente e per principio affidate all’oralità; che, infine, costituissero il “sistema” filosofico di Platone che non risulta dai dialoghi.
L’aspirazione tutta teor a imprigionare il “platonismo” in un corpus chiuso e ben delineato, al fine di collocarlo nell’alveo della (o di una) tradizione classica, se non piuttosto teologico scolastica, dell’occidente, manifesta insomma i suoi tratti fortemente aporetici e finisce senza dubbio per pagare un prezzo molto alto, che è quello di disperdere completamente i caratteri più propri del pensiero di Platone e della tradizione filosofica che da esso discende, la cui varietà e ricchezza derivano precisamente dalla molteplicità di interessi, approcci, svolgimenti tematici, che rimangono del tutto irriducibili alla forma e allo spirito del “sistema”.
